Mohamed Firouz Asnan

Mr. Mohamed Firouz Asnan is currently the Senior Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Management, the Upstream Business of PETRONAS. He was appointed to this role in June 2019. Firouz is a registered professional engineer and a member of Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.

He graduated with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and holds a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Fellow.

Firouz joined PETRONAS in 1989 as a facilities engineer in the Exploration & Production Division. Throughout the 34 years of his career in PETRONAS, he has progressed through a series of domestic and international assignments spanning both Upstream and Downstream businesses, including stints in the corporate centre.

In his previous role as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy from July 2017 to March 2019, he was instrumental in setting up the New Energy business of PETRONAS as part of the strategy to future-proof the organisation. 

Presently, Firouz sits on the boards of several PETRONAS subsidiaries including Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and PETRONAS LNG Sdn Bhd. He also chairs PETRONAS’ venture capital outfit, PTV International Ventures Ltd. In addition, he serves on the board of Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority (MTJA) and Vice Chair of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP).


Joshua Ngu

Joshua is a senior leader in Wood Mackenzie's Asia Pacific consulting practice and is a member of Consulting Leadership Team. Joshua has extensive advisory experience in the energy sector across upstream, gas, LNG, downstream, petrochemiclas and energy transition (e.g. CCUS, hydrogen, emissions). Joshua's cross-sectorial experience allows him to approach energy transition in a holistic manner.


Dr. Ghislain de Joussineau

Ghislain is the Director of Operations & Technology of Beicip-Franlab, the consultancy arm of IFP Energies Nouvelles. After an early career as a researcher in Geology, Ghislain joined Beicip-Franlab in 2007 as a subsurface consultant and project manager. He built an extensive experience in all the hydrocarbon producing regions of the world, and held consecutive management positions (Team Leader Fractured Reservoirs, Head of Reservoir Engineering & Production Department) before joining the Management Board of the Company in 2021. In his role, Ghislain oversees the implementation of Consultancy and Software Development Projects, and Innovations. He supervises the Company’s Energy Transition activities (among which CCUS, geothermal, hydrogen).


Saad Kisra

Saad Kisra is the Head of Products for CCUS & Hydrogen in SLB’s Digital Division based in London, UK. In this capacity, he manages a comprehensive portfolio of digital solutions for CCUS from site selection, to carbon capture & transportation & sequestration. He is also in charge of low carbon digital solutions such as hydrogen and geothermal which help customers reduce their carbon intensity. Saad started his career with SLB in the Schlumberger Technology Center in Tokyo in 2001 and has worked in many locations in Asia, Europe, North and South America. His previous role was the Head of Process Engineering based in Calgary, and looking after the process simulation and engineering digital portfolio. He was also the global head of geomechanics and acoustics between 2016 and 2020 based in Abingdon, UK. Saad received his Bachelor’s and Master’s of Engineering degrees in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Tokyo Institute Technology in 1999 and 2001 respectively. He also obtained a Master’s of Science in Management of Oil & Gas from Heriot Watt University, UK in 2016 and is pursuing a Master in Renewable Energy from Renewable Energy Institute.
