PACE Grants
The Programme for Association and Co-operation in Earth Sciences (PACE) supports individual geoscientists to participate actively in selected EAGE's events. This support is available for accepted speakers who cannot obtain financial support from other sources. With this programme EAGE strives to encourage the exchange of information and knowledge among the geoscientific community. PACE is coordinated by the PACE committee.
Please note that if granted, the PACE support will be limited to registration fee waivers only. In exceptional cases, upon carefully reviewing the application and motivation letter, the PACE committee may decide to award an additional support to contribute to applicant's travel and accommodation expenses. Such support is being awarded only in exceptional well-founded cases. If you need such support, please explain your request in your motivation letter.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for financial support, please take the following criteria into consideration:
- Only EAGE members will be eligible to apply and receive a grant. (Click here to Join or Renew your membership). If you are Non-member, please do not proceed with this PACE application and make sure you have an active membership.
- Only presenters of accepted oral and/or poster presentations who cannot obtain financial support given by their company/institute or other resources will be eligible to receive a grant
- Speakers / presenters need to submit their own abstract through their own account before applying for a grant
- A person will only be considered for a financial support once every two years
Selection
Please note that if granted, the PACE Support will be limited to the registration fee waivers only.
The PACE has a limited budget for support grants per year. When the number of eligible requests per event exceed the budget, the following preference rules will be applied:
Preference will be first given to: delegates that have not received grants before
and:
a quorum will be given per country based on the EAGE membership in that country (with a minimum of one delegate) relative to the total number of applications for an event, whereby applications within the quorum will be accepted in order of date of application.
"Please note that PACE Support recipients are granted Full Conference and Exhibition passes only if "if result is accepted". Should a recipient wish to upgrade to an All Access pass, the additional costs will not be covered by PACE and the applicant will be responsible for paying the difference. Additionally if a PACE Support beneficiary wishes to participate in other activities such as workshops, short courses, or field trips, they will need to purchase these registrations independently."
Kindly NOTE that deadline for Annual 2027 PACE application is on 31st January 2027
