CO₂ Mineralization Potential in Deccan Basalts, India: Case Study on Geochemical and Geo-mechanical Properties

Short Abstract

Biography

I am Sarika Kumari, a dedicated geologist currently working with the Russia Exploration and Development team at ONGC Videsh, with a Master’s degree in Applied Geology from IIT Bombay and a Bachelor's in Geology from Delhi University. With a strong geoscience foundation, I am passionate about leveraging geological expertise to contribute to global energy sustainability and environmental solutions. I am actively engaged in research on CO₂ mineralization potential in the basalts of the Deccan Volcanic Province (DVP), India, focusing on geochemical and geo-mechanical properties. My research work aims to support the transition towards net-zero carbon emissions through innovative geological applications In addition to technical proficiency, I have strong leadership and communication skills through active participation in the placement team of IIT Bombay and various extracurricular activities, including sports, dance, and fashion events. I continue to explore avenues where geoscience can drive sustainable development and mitigate climate challenges.
