Induced Seismicity Monitoring—Comparison of Surface Deployed DAS Arrays Versus Other Common Seismicity Monitoring Techniques

9:20 AM - 9:40 AM

Short Abstract

Biography

Dr Mike Branston is a geophysicist and a New Energy domain lead within Exploration Data division of SLB. He attained a Bachelor’s of Geophysics from University of Liverpool and PhD from Keele University where his thesis focused on microgravity and its links to observed microseismicity in salt mines. He subsequently held positions with Geko-Prakla, MET Consultancy and NORSAR, before coming back to SLB as a geoscientist in WesternGeco and Exploration Data divisions. He has extensively published on various aspects of seismic survey design and survey modelling, analysis of time-lapse seismic data, and most recently on use of distributed acoustic sensing in CCS.
