Details

CCS and geothermal are two distinct industries but integration is possible. Some projects dissolve CO2 in produced geothermal brine for reinjection, while CO2 Plume Geothermal explores using supercritical CO2 as a working fluid. However, challenges remain, including well design, reservoir compatibility, and operational efficiency. Optimizing both strategies in parallel—through shared data, joint evaluations, and coordinated use of pore space—can enhance outcomes and resource management.
