For the GET2025 evening programme, we welcome you to the Laurenskerk, the only remaining medieval building in the centre of Rotterdam. Built between 1449 and 1525, the church is a striking reminder of the city’s history and resilience. After being badly damaged during the bombing of Rotterdam in 1940, it was carefully restored and now stands as both a monument and a living part of the city.
Inside, the Laurenskerk is striking for its size and atmosphere. The high arches, stone walls and the largest organ in the Netherlands give the space a character you will not find anywhere else in the city.
Attending the evening here is also a chance to experience part of Rotterdam’s history. The Laurenskerk is a symbol of how the city rebuilt itself, and today it remains a place where people gather for music, culture and events.
Before the dinner, you could visit the bell tower for a quick climb and a great view of the city.
