Details

According to many climate and energy system models, CCUS technologies and the engineered carbon management they underpin are critical tools that can support industrial decarbonization, emissions abatement at long-lived fossil power stations, and permanent carbon removals. Despite their clear utility and deployment progress made in recent years, the necessity and feasibility of engineered carbon management continues to be debated. This session will first provide a short global summary of where we are and the general direction of travel. The session will then morph into a guided interactive discussion about what is needed to accelerate deployment of CCUS technologies in Europe and globally.
