Details

As we advance into the energy transition and pursue low-carbon initiatives—particularly those involving the near and subsurface, clear and effective (geo)science communication to the public becomes critical to project success. The term "public" covers a wide array of stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, local communities, advocacy groups, the media, and the education sector. Our messaging must be tailored to each audience. The growing urgency of challenges like low-carbon energy and raw materials supply, geohazards, and climate change require stronger, more consistent interactions between geoscientists and policymakers. This panel session will explore how we can communicate our science more effectively to develop stronger partnerships with project stakeholders for successful project outcomes.
