Details
This workshop is designed for geoscientists, data scientists, and engineers interested in the latest AI developments and their practical applications within the geosciences. Participants will gain insights into the transformative potential of foundation models and have the opportunity to engage with leading experts in the field.
As the geosciences increasingly intersect with advanced AI technologies, foundation models—large pre-trained models that can be fine-tuned for specific tasks—are emerging as transformative tools. This workshop will explore the application of these models in geosciences, from seismic interpretation to reservoir characterization, and beyond.
Sub-Topics that will be covered in the workshop:
● Introduction to foundation models and their significance in geosciences.
● Case studies demonstrating successful applications in seismic data analysis,
subsurface modeling, and environmental monitoring.
● Challenges and future directions in integrating AI-driven models with traditional
geoscience workflows.
