Borehole Measurements in Geothermal Wells: Why One Should Measure and Know Certain Parameters
12:40 PM - 1:00 PMBiography
Wolfgang Bauer received his PhD from the University of Wuerzburg. He is active in geothermal exploration for more than 20 years, leading expert teams for the development of several geothermal projects in Europe. His current research focusses on the development of new geothermal plays in southern Germany and South America.
Mr Joachim Strobel
Petrophysicist
BGE Bundesgesellschaft für Endlager mbH
NMR Measurements and Permeability Estimation for Geothermal Purposes
1:00 PM - 1:20 PMBiography
Joachim Strobel received a Diploma in Geology from the University of Munich and from the University of Swansea.
He worked for Schlumberger as field-engineer and petrophysicist from 1987 to 1999. He then joined the German operator RWE-DEA and managed the Formation Evaluation group there. In 2012 he joined Wintershall to head a mixed group of Reservoir Engineers and Petrophysicists to advance geomodelling processes. In 2015 he became the company’s lead petrophysicist.
While Joachim enjoys all facets of petrophysics, he is specialized in harmonizing saturation models across disciplines and explaining uncommon log responses through numerical simulations.
