Shallow Geothermal Energy System in Fractured Basalt; A Case Study From Kollafjørður, Faroe Islands, NE-Atlantic Ocean

9:40 AM - 10:00 AM

Biography

Óluva Reginsdóttir Eidesgaard earned both her Bachelor and Master in Geology degrees at the University in Lund, Sweden, where she finished in 2009. She is currently working as a senior geologist at the Faroese Geological Survey located in Tórshavn, the Faroe Islands, were she has been since 2011. At the moment she is additionally doing a PhD at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. The title of her PhD project is Investigation and applicability of interpreted well log data within the Faroe Islands Basalt Group (FIBG). One of her focus areas in the PhD project is shallow geothermal energy and groundwater resources. In addition to working with onshore geological geothermal and groundwater issues, she has since she started at the survey also been worked with hydrocarbon exploration matters offshore the Faroe Islands.
