Integrating Co-Dependent Uncertain Parameters in Basin Modeling: A Multi-Scenario Workflow Applied In A Data-Poor Frontier Basin
Biography
Matthieu DUBILLE has been with Beicip-Franlab for the past 18 years, contributing to more than 50 studies worldwide in exploration and petroleum systems evaluation, including some of the company’s most ambitious projects. He is an advanced TemisFlow user and is recognized as one of Beicip-Franlab’s experts in petroleum system modeling. His expertise covers source rock characterization and geochemical modeling, pore pressure prediction, biogenic and acid gas modeling, as well as white hydrogen exploration.
Dr Alexandros Konstantinou
ExxonMobil
Integrated Petrel–PetroMod Workflow for Basin-Scale Modeling of the Delaware Basin
Biography
Alexandros Konstantinou has thirteen years of experience in petroleum exploration as a regional integrator and petroleum systems analyst. After finishing his PhD in petrology and tectonics, he worked for two years for the Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company before joining ExxonMobil. He has experience evaluating the tectonic and stratigraphic evolution of regions and integrating these evaluations into large-scale basin models. He is currently the Basin Fluid Systems Analysis Principal at ExxonMobil.

Beyond Darcy: Integrating geochemistry, geomechanics, and basin history to predict hydrocarbon expulsion and its economics
Biography
Dr. Robert Tscherny, Advisor:
Robert has more than 25 years of experience in petroleum systems analysis, geochemistry, and basin modeling, with a proven record of delivering business-relevant insights across 20+ basins worldwide. He held technical leadership and advisory roles at IES (now SLB), Chevron, and ConocoPhillips, and has deep expertise in fluid characterization, pore pressure analysis, play-based exploration, unconventional field development, and unconventional EOR. Known for his first-principles approach to complex geoscience problems, Robert is recognized across the industry as an integrative thinker and outstanding problem solver who cuts through ambiguity to deliver clear, actionable results. Robert holds a Dr. rer. nat. (PhD) in Geology from Aachen University of Technology (RWTH), Germany, and has published extensively with over 30 international conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. He is a contributor to AAPG as Associate Editor.
Dr Daniel Walter Schmid
Bergwerk
Dynamic Fault Seal and Multi-Reservoir Connectivity in 3D Petroleum Systems Analysis & Outlook on AI-Assisted Workflows
Biography
Karthik Iyer is a consultant at Bergwerk (Bergverk AS, Norway), where he leads projects on petroleum systems analysis, custom numerical modelling, and machine learning applications in the energy sector. He holds a PhD from the Physics of Geological Processes centre at the University of Oslo (2007) and an MSc in Mineralogy and Petrology from the University of Hamburg. Before joining Bergwerk in 2022, he worked as an R&D specialist at Geomodelling Solutions in Zurich (2014-2021) on basin and thermal modelling and petroleum systems analysis for industry clients, and as a researcher at GEOMAR in Kiel, developing coupled fluid flow and reactive transport models of hydrothermal and magmatic systems. He has authored 25 peer-reviewed publications, including work on evolving fault seals in petroleum systems, thermal maturity modelling of the Norwegian North Sea, and AI-based object detection, and has given more than 40 presentations at international meetings.
