Petrobras
Linking Aptian petroleum kitchens to Cretaceous siliciclastic turbidite reservoirs in deep-water offshore Namibia and South Africa
Biography
Anna Eliza Svartman Dias has been Manager of the Geochemistry and Petroleum Systems Modeling Group at Petrobras Exploration since 2025. She joined Petrobras in 2004 and has since specialized in basin and petroleum systems analysis, integrating geodynamics, geochemistry, and numerical modeling to support exploration decision-making and risk assessment. She holds a Ph.D. in Geodynamics from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a B.Sc. in Geology and an M.Sc. in Basin Analysis, with an emphasis on organic geochemistry and chemostratigraphy, from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She also teaches courses in quantitative basin analysis, petroleum systems, and energy transition at Petrobras University.
Dr Thorsten Garlichs
Manager Geochemistry Studies
Geolog
Integrated Molecular Migration Tracers and Basin Modelling Reconstruct the Initial Filling Haugaland High, Norwegian North Sea
Biography
Thorsten Uwe Garlichs is Head of Integrated Geochemical Studies and Production Services at Geolog. He has 13 years of experience in petroleum geology and organic geochemistry, with expertise in petroleum systems, basin modelling, hydrocarbon migration, geochemical correlation, and production allocation. His work focuses on integrating molecular geochemistry with geological and numerical modelling to improve understanding of hydrocarbon generation, migration, reservoir filling, and production. He has worked extensively on exploration, development, and production projects. His research topic are migration tracers such as benzocarbazoles.
