The geochemical fingerprint of the Pelotas and Punta del Este basins

2:30 PM - 2:50 PM

Biography

Researcher at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos and holds a Doctorate in Geology from the same institution (2016-2020). He has a Bachelor's degree (2010-2014) and a Master's degree (2015-2016) from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos. He has experience in isotopic geology and geochemistry, where he developed work in high-grade Paleoproterozoic terrains to Quaternary sedimentary deposits. During his doctoral studies, he worked with material from IODP-362 expedition, Indian Ocean, aiming to understand the magmatic evolution of the ocean floor and the sedimentary provenance and change in sediment sources from the Nicobar Submarine Fan. Currently, as a researcher, he applies isotopic geology and geochemistry techniques to understand the tectono-sedimentary evolution of the South American/African conjugated margin sedimentary basins.

Biography

M.Sc. Josefina Marmisolle - Geologist Degree in Geology (Faculty of Sciences, Universidad de la República – UdelaR). In 2016, obtained a M.Sc. degree in Geosciences from the Program for the Development of Basic Sciences (PEDECIBA), UdelaR. In 2011 obtained the certificate in Petroleum Policy and Resource Management, PETRAD, Norway. She is currently conducting studies and research for a PhD in Geosciences, PEDECIBA, UdelaR. Between 2005 – 2008 worked in basic metals mineral exploration mainly focused orogenic gold on Archean to Proterozoic shields in Uruguay. Between 2008 and 2009 collaborated on the project Protection and Sustainable Development of the Guarani Aquifer System, P-SAG sponsored by UNESCO and financed by GEF. In 2009 joined the Geosciences team of Exploration and Production of ANCAP where she currently works. She developed skills related to the exploration of hydrocarbons, working on basins analysis, petroleum systems, structural analysis, interpretation of geophysical data, field geology, control of exploratory and stratigraphic wells. Also, has collaborated and co-led several scientific research projects joint with UDELAR professors as well, has participated in several scientific and technical publications related to the analysis of sedimentary basins and hydrocarbon potential of Uruguay.
