Speaker

Mr Clément Blaizot
Satellite Oil Seep Consultant
Independent

Uruguay satellite oil seeps, an overview from historical and recent satellite data Introduction

Biography

Maria Emilia Bravo
Conicet

Discovery of active cold seeps and cold-water coral reefs in the Colorado Basin and management implications

Biography

Dr. Bravo is researcher at CONICET. She has a degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD in Biology from the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS). Her interest is focused on the integration of techniques from other disciplines that facilitate the mapping of large-scale benthic habitat in relation to natural or anthropogenic environmental attributes. Most of her studies focus on integration of geophysics and benthic ecology of cold seeps in Argentina.
Mr Matheus Cruz
Research Assistant
Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos

Integrated chronostratigraphic study of the Punta del Este and Pelotas basins

Biography

Degree in Geophysics from the Federal University of Pampa (2020) and Master's Degree in Geophysics from the University of BrasĂlia (2022). He is currently a researcher at the Pos-Graduate Program in Geology at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), working with seismic processing and interpretation.

Dr Tiago Girelli
Researcher
Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos

The Integration of Gravity and magnetic data in Delineating Punta del Este and Pelotas Basins

Biography

Researcher at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos and holds a Doctorate in Geology from the same institution (2016-2020). He has a Bachelor's degree (2010-2014) and a Master's degree (2015-2016) from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos. He has experience in isotopic geology and geochemistry, where he developed work in high-grade Paleoproterozoic terrains to Quaternary sedimentary deposits. During his doctoral studies, he worked with material from IODP-362 expedition, Indian Ocean, aiming to understand the magmatic evolution of the ocean floor and the sedimentary provenance and change in sediment sources from the Nicobar Submarine Fan. Currently, as a researcher, he applies isotopic geology and geochemistry techniques to understand the tectono-sedimentary evolution of the South American/African conjugated margin sedimentary basins.
Mr Rubens Merlino
Student

SEAWARD-DIPPING REFLECTORS IN THE CONTINENTAL MARGIN OF URUGUAY

Biography

Computer tecnologist, analyst programmer, and currently finishing the Geology degree, working on seismic interpretation projects and Data Science for geology. Along of my working life I have been acquiring skills that allow me to link, complement and expand geological sciences with current computational tools, data analysis and Artificial Intelligence. I have developed various data science projects as well as a Python library for the plotting and analysis of stratigraphic columns.
Martina Cecotti
YPF Tecnología

Bacterial community diversity and metabolic degrading potential of hydrocarbons as a bioprospecting tool for offshore exploration

Biography

Martina Cecotti is currently collaborating with YPF TecnologĂa's Environment Mission. She participates in development and research projects applying her expertise in microbiology and molecular biology. As a biochemist, she obtained a PhD in Biological Sciences at Facultad de Ciencias Extactas, Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. She is interested in the application of molecular biology techniques to perform diversity and functional characterization of microbiomes from diverse environments, as a complementary tool to physicochemical parameters.
Mr Sebastian Principi
CONICET

Quaternary contourites of the northern Argentine continental margin and their relationship with subsurface hydrocarbon exploration

Biography

Sebastian Principi has a degree in Geological Sciences and is currently developing his doctorate in marine geology. His research interest is focused on the processes that control seafloor morphology and sediment distribution along continental slopes through the analysis of seismo-acoustic data and sediment cores.
