Koya Suto (Terra Australis Geophysica)
Arre Verweerd (AECOM)
This workshop tries to fill the gap between geosciences and ground/geotechnical engineering.Although both our disciplines work effortlessly to characterise the ground in a deterministic way, there always appears to be a disconnect. Geophysicists are unsure about the questions that ground and geotechnical engineering need answered and engineers are unsure how to use geophysical techniques and models with their infinite number of equally valid quirks. The workshop will be a series of presentations of geoscientists and engineers followed by discussions on this theme to foster their mutual understanding.
