Avinash Ramroopsingh is a Senior Exploration Geoscientist with 14 years of international experience in exploration, appraisal, and field development across a range of geological settings. He has worked with BG Group, Shell, and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), delivering complex subsurface projects from concept to execution. Known for his strengths in technical integration and problem-solving, Avinash combines geoscience expertise with a collaborative approach to support effective decision-making and project delivery. He has led multidisciplinary project teams, mentored early-career professionals, and successfully managed projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence. His experience working across diverse cultures and disciplines has enabled him to build strong partnerships and drive successful outcomes in challenging environments. Avinash is passionate about innovation, continuous learning, and applying integrated geoscience solutions to unlock subsurface opportunities.

Racine Basant is a Geophysicist who brings over a decade of experience in analysis and interpretation of geophysical datasets. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of the West Indies and has post-doctoral research experience at the University of Trieste. Throughout her career spanning both industry and academia, she has developed expertise in multi-disciplinary geophysical data integration using machine learning methods. Known for her professionalism and resilience, Dr. Basant is dedicated to applying her versatile skillset to delivering on energy initiatives even in the face of complex challenges.

Biography

Lorenzo Casasanta is Head of Imaging Research and Development at Shearwater GeoServices, where he leads the development of advanced seismic imaging and inversion technologies for subsurface characterization. Since joining the geophysical industry in 2011, he has focused on bridging scientific innovation and production software, helping transform cutting-edge research into practical solutions. Lorenzo joined Shearwater GeoServices in 2017 and has led Imaging R&D since 2020. Passionate about high-performance computing, his work spans seismic imaging, Full Waveform Inversion (FWI), numerical modeling, GPU acceleration, and large-scale scientific computing. He has played a key role in advancing next-generation imaging technologies and integrating novel wave-equation-based methods into commercial geophysical workflows. He holds both an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His interests include seismic imaging, inversion, numerical methods for wave propagation, and high-performance computing applied to geophysical challenges.

Dale Baptiste is a Senior Geophysicist with BP, bringing more than 20 years of experience in seismic interpretation, quantitative geophysics, reservoir characterization, and subsurface imaging. Since beginning his career in 2003, he has worked across a broad range of exploration, appraisal, and development projects, helping to unlock value through advanced geophysical analysis and integrated subsurface evaluations. His expertise spans seismic inversion, amplitude-versus-offset (AVO) analysis, full waveform inversion (FWI), ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic applications, velocity model building, and seismic imaging. Dale has played key roles in major field development and appraisal programs, providing technical leadership on projects involving reservoir characterization, uncertainty reduction, and development planning. A strong advocate for innovation, Dale is particularly interested in leveraging emerging technologies, including machine learning and advanced seismic workflows, to improve subsurface understanding and decision quality. He has contributed to the advancement of seismic inversion methodologies and has authored technical publications on deterministic simultaneous inversion and ODiSI inversion, with applications to reservoir characterization in complex geological settings. Beyond his technical contributions, Dale is recognized for his commitment to mentoring and developing geoscience talent. He actively supports early-career professionals and promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration across geoscience, reservoir engineering, and development teams. Dale regularly presents at industry conferences and technical forums, sharing insights on seismic inversion, reservoir characterization, and the application of innovative geophysical technologies to real-world challenges in the energy industry.
