Krystal Ramdin
Shell
Using new 3D Seismic Data to Unravel the Geological Framework of Block Modified U(c), ECMA Trinidad
Biography
Krystal Ramdin is an Exploration Geoscientist with extensive experience in the energy industry. She has played a key role in maturing oil and gas exploration opportunities across Trinidad and Tobago, spanning the West Coast Soldado area, onshore Trinidad, the East Coast Marine Area, and deepwater acreages. Her experience extends across the exploration lifecycle, including sub-regional studies, prospect generation and maturation and supporting well planning and execution. In addition to her oil and gas experience, Krystal has delivered technical evaluations for a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project in the United States.
Dr Juan-Mauricio Florez
Principal Geophysicist
Woodside Energy
ALBIAN SAND WAVES IN THE WESTERN MARGIN OF THE UPPER MAGDALENA VALLEY; COLOMBIA
Biography
Juan-Mauricio is a geoscientist with more than twenty-five years of experience in the oil and gas industry, the last fifteen of them with Woodside (previously BHP Petroleum). He obtained his B Sc in Geology from National University (Colombia) in 1992, and after more than 4 years of working in field geology in the Colombian Andes, he joined BP’s Cusiana Development Team. Later, he moved to USA for graduate studies, where he obtained his Ph D in Geophysics from Stanford University. Since 2005 he has been working as an expert in Rock Physics and Quantitative Seismic Interpretation, carrying out projects around the world: Asia, Australia, USA, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Trinidad and Egypt. For about 8 years he participated in the appraisal programs to evaluate hydrocarbon discoveries offshore Mexico and Trinidad. He was instrumental on putting together the projects that acquired, processed and evaluated the first deep water OBN survey in Mexico, and the first CSEM survey offshore Trinidad, both with excellent results. He promotes the use of rock physics as the key link between geology and geophysical measurements, providing results that reduce subsurface uncertainty and guide informed decisions.
