Session Leads: James Tomlinson (Ikon Science) and Jasmine Tran (Ovation Data) For the EAGE Digitalisation 2026 roundtable session on Data Readiness, we will explore critical questions surrounding the trust, quality, and efficiency of subsurface data in the context of emerging AI workflows. As AI-driven solutions become increasingly integral to subsurface exploration and production, a key challenge remains: Do subsurface users trust their data? This question goes beyond simple data accuracy, delving into data provenance, integrity, and accessibility. We will also examine the evolving requirements for AI workflows, considering the balance between data quantity, quality, and the actionable insights required for effective decision-making. Additionally, the session will address a pressing dilemma: How are companies balancing the cost of achieving data perfection with the practical need for actionable, yet imperfect, insights? This conversation will draw on industry experiences and real-world case studies to explore how companies are navigating these complexities to drive digital transformation in the subsurface domain.
