Speaker
Mr Thomas Seers
Texas A&M University at Qatar
Panoptic segmentation for microcrystalline calcite in SEM petrographic images for carbonate reservoir characterization
9:30 AM - 9:50 AMBiography
Dr. Thomas Daniel Seers is an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University at Qatar, specializing in computational geosciences and 3D imaging for modeling naturally fractured reservoirs. His research includes 4D X-ray tomography for analyzing multiphase flow, remote sensing for Middle Eastern reservoir modeling, and hybrid geomechanical modeling of fractures. He holds a PhD in Computational Geosciences from the University of Manchester and teaches geology courses within the Petroleum Engineering program.
Mr John Kolvoord
Exxonmobil Technology & Engineering Company (EMTEC)
Carbonate Total Pore System Integration Across Characterization, Modelling, Surveillance and Reservoir Management
9:50 AM - 10:10 AMBiography
Vitalis C. Nzerem is an SPE Certified Petroleum Engineer with about 16 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering.
Prior to joining ExxonMobil, he worked as a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Petrobras; Senior Reservoir Engineer in SGS Oil & Gas, and General Field Engineer in Schlumberger.
His technical expertise is in reservoir fluid analysis, reservoir fluid phase behavior, black-oil and compositional reservoir simulations, PVT Studies, EOS modeling, enhanced oil recovery, multi-phase flow in porous media, open-and-cased-hole wireline operations and interpretation.
Vitalis is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with a proven track record of success in identifying areas for improvement and developing initiatives that improve operational, organizational and system performance.
He has M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma (OU) and also graduated with First Class Honors (summa cum laude) from Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria.
In his free time, he enjoys reading, cycling and swimming.
