A data driven and unsupervised learning approach for salt segmentation automating the extraction of salt structures

Biography

After joining Schlumberger in 2010, Ahmed Adnan Aqrawi has published over 30 conference and journal papers combined, as well as having numerous patents. His background is a master’s degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, specializing in high performance computing, image processing and artificial intelligence. The research over the last 12 years has mainly focused on topics of delineation and segmentation of structural geology in post-stack seismic data. In recent years, the focus on the use of unsupervised learning techniques has led to many interesting developments and will continue to be a focus area.

Karst macro-porosity features and control factors on their development in a pre-salt carbonate reservoir, Santos Basin

Biography

I'm a geologist graduated from Unicamp (2016). I have a masters degree in Crustal Evolution from the Department of Geology and Natural Resources. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Energy (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - Unicamp) where I have been working on the impact of faults and fractures on the quality of pre-salt reservoirs.

Evidence of reworked deposits in carbonate reservoirs of the Brazilian Pre-salt section from Santos Basin, Brazil

Biography

Geologists graduated from the Federal University of Pará in 2013 and a master's degree in Sedimentary Geology from the Graduate Program in Geology and Geochemistry (PPGG) of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) in 2015. Ph.D. from the PPGG - UFPA, and the University of Cincinnati, substitute professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), and a member of the Amazon Sedimentary Basin Analysis Group (GSED). Post-doc in progress at UNICAMP to study the Aptian of the Santos Basin. I Have experience in Geosciences, with emphasis on Sedimentology and Stratigraphy, working mainly on the following subjects: Facies analysis, Sedimentary petrography of siliciclastic / carbonate deposits, and Permo Carboniferous cyclicity.
