SUBAERIAL TRAVERTINE FACIES – A PRE-SALT OASIS

9:30 AM - 9:50 AM

Biography

I am a senior geologist from Petrobras. I have been working as Geologist for Petrobras Research Center, since 2006, mostly on sedimentology of Pre-Salt carbonate rocks. I got my bachelor’s degree in 2003 at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. In the same university, in 2006, I received my mater’s degree in geology with a study focused on marine carbonate (sedimentology and geochemistry of Albian carbonates from Sergipe Basin, NE Brazil). In 2018, I got my PhD at KU Leuven (Belgium), studying sedimentology, geochemistry and petrophysical characterization of travertine from Tivoli, Italy. During my PhD Thesis I had the opportunity to work with Travertines from different ages and sites as Italy, Turkey, Hungary and Brazil. My experience at Petrobras includes sedimentology, exploration and reservoir geology, all in carbonate rocks. I have long experience in the description and interpretation of marine and continental carbonate sedimentology and diagenesis from different sites (recent and ancient), but mostly in the Pre-Salt. Current research involves high resolution stratigraphy integrated with reservoir characterization of the continental carbonate rocks from Santos basin (Brazil) Pre-Salt, besides the characterization and classification of all the travertine occurrence in the Pre-Salt.

Biography

My name is Shohreh Iraji. I am a third-year Ph.D. student in Petroleum Engineering at UNICAMP State University of Campinas, Brazil, holding a master's degree in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir Engineering) from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. I have a strong background in the design and construction of petroleum engineering laboratory equipment and EOR-related research projects. Although I am mostly interested in EOR processes, I have experience in interfacial tension phenomena, wettability alteration, fluid flow in porous media, and reservoir simulation. During this time I study on pore-scale flow simulation using tomography images.
