David Hunt has 20 years industry experience, working projects globally in exploration and production. Since 2015 he has been focused on the S. Atlantic pre-salt carbonates in the Campos, Santos and Kwanza basins.

Geologist with a PhD geoscience in petrophysics applied to the pre-salt carbonate reservoirs, with over 10 years of experience in sedimentary petrology and sedimentology focused in reservoir evaluation (carbonate and siliciclastic reservoirs). Experience as petrographer in the Weatherford Laboratories Brazil during almost 6 years, working with laboratory petrophysics (CCAL and SCAL),x-ray diffraction analysis to mineralogical characterization and well log analysis. Participation in international projects in Mexico and Venezuela as a project geologist for core-to-log evaluation for reservoir evaluation. Since 2019, I act as carbonate rock specialist for Research, Development and Innovation (R,D &I) projects on machine learning applied to facies automatic classification and rock physics in the Pre-salt carbonate reservoirs.
