On behalf of EAGE and the ECMOR scientific committee, we are pleased to announce that the European Conference on the Mathematics of Geological Reservoirs, ECMOR 2022, will take place as a three-day hybrid event with physical attendance in The Hague, The Netherlands and online elements, from 5 to 7 September 2022.
For more than 30 years, ECMOR has been a key conference for applied mathematicians, engineers, and geoscientists from academia, governmental bodies and industry working on subsurface energy system modeling.
More than 110 abstracts were accepted for presentation in the categories of “physical modelling”, “computational methods”, “uncertainty modelling and optimization”. Application domains are extended from hydrocarbon recovery towards new requirements on carbon capture storage, H2 storage and geothermal energy. Several contributions highlight the potential of digitalization, artificial intelligence and automation to increase the efficiency and productivity of subsurface energy systems.
The conference will address challenges related to the energy transition, promote open debates during technical sessions and foster exchanges between participants in an informal atmosphere. The conference committee looks forward to welcoming you in The Hague, a modern city with a historic center known for culture, science, and engineering!
