Dr. Peter Haffinger, DELFT Inversion

Peter Haffinger became co-founder of Delft Inversion in 2013. He received a Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) for his work on full waveform inversion in general but also for specific applications to the reservoir. He was among the first-year students of the International Joint Master Programme in Applied Geophysics, organised by the IDEA League and including educational stays at TU Delft, ETH Zurich and RWTH Aachen. As part of his career he undertook research for Western Geco in Gatwick, UK and at the Saudi Aramco EXPEC Advanced Research Centre in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. With the team of Delft Inversion his ambition is to establish the next generation AVO technology in the field of seismic reservoir characterisation. When not pushing the boundaries of characterising the suburface with seismic data, Peter is an active member of various football teams. He enjoys hiking with his family and serving some of his home brewed beer to his friends.

We asked Peter what his favourite quote was, he responded:

"So many times it happens too fast, you trade your passion for glory.”
Song: Eye of the Tiger
