ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The seismic industry is seeing a shift from almost exclusively focusing on fossil fuel exploration to a broader application base, including renewable energy and advanced subsurface characterization for storage. This workshop will highlight cutting-edge practices in seismic data acquisition and processing, maximizing the value of both legacy and new seismic data in land and marine environments.
We will explore modern seismic technologies that enhance subsurface interpretation and support exploration, development, production, storage, and monitoring. Topics include innovations such as compressive sensing, simultaneous source acquisition, distributed acoustic sensors (DAS), cable-free nodal systems, and marine vibrators. Machine learning applications for automated seismic data analysis will also be discussed.
The workshop will feature case studies on challenges and successes in broadband acquisition, time-lapse (4D) seismic processing, and hybrid strategies using towed streamer and ocean bottom node (OBN) data. Advanced techniques like interferometry, full-waveform inversion (FWI), and elastic FWI will be covered, with a focus on their application to various geological settings.
