For the past few years, there have been many workshops on Big Data. It shows how rapidly evolving the field is, with new methodologies and techniques arriving on the scene. Many of these events focused on results of the mysterious internal workings of applications.

It is time to take a step back. 

This workshop will discuss the foundations of Data Science and successfully integrating these techniques into critical exploration pipelines and focus on two levels:

1. As a workshop to Data Science. What is it and how it “works”; best practices and pitfalls
2. As a Voyage of Discovery of what can be done in the field of Data Science; possibilities and opportunities.

As Data Science crosses many industries, this workshop will also provide the opportunity to share experiences and discover what goes on behind those mysterious internal workings outside our own domain.

From state-of-the-art managed compute, to better data discovery - we will hear from global leaders, as well as independent innovators, about the fundamentals, possibilities, career opportunities and pitfalls of Data Science.
