Shaharuddin is the Head, Technology Digital Solutions, Group Technology & Commercialisation, PETRONAS. He is responsible for orchestrating and shaping technology and digital solutions across PETRONAS to drive sustainable business delivery, value realisation, adoption, and enhanced customer experience. He is also responsible for driving innovation, Intellectual Property (IP) management, and advocating collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders, industry and academia. Shaharuddin has more than 20 years of experience in various technology and leadership roles in different businesses within PETRONAS, with a common theme of driving organisational transformation and business performance through technology adoption and digitalisation. Shaharuddin holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dundee, Scotland and is a Professional Technologist registered with Malaysia Board of Technologists.
Shivkumar Kalyanaraman serves as CTO, Energy Industry, Asia, Microsoft driving technology innovation across Microsoft technologies, especially AI. Previously he was Executive GM, GE Power Conversion (e-mobility and distributed solar businesses); and earlier Program Director, Special Initiatives, IBM Research - India, responsible for transformative innovation in renewables (esp. solar), energy storage and electrified transportation. Till mid-2015 he was the Chief Scientist, IBM Research - Australia. Prior to joining IBM, he was a Professor at the Department of Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute inTroy, NY. He received Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 1997. He was selected by MIT's Technology Review Magazine in 1999 as one of the top 100 young innovators for the new millenium. He is a Fellow of IEEE, ACM Distinguished Scientist, Fellow, Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE). He is a distinguished alumnus awardee of IIT Madras (recognizing <0.3% of IIT Madras alumni) and Ohio State University.
Emad is a manager in the Northern Area Reservoir Characterization Department. Before this assignment, Emad assumed different leadership roles of various functions in the Exploration Admin Area ranging from prospect generation to reservoir characterization. Emad led several major oil development increments that involved subsurface reservoir characterization, modeling and economic evaluation. Emad holds BSc in Geology from Wichita State University, USA and EMBA from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia.
With a background in computer engineering, Abrar started his career in oil & gas more than 25 years ago in the information management technical domain. As a technical expert, he was involved in several corporate information management projects and national data center projects, with activities including system analysis and design, defining and implementing standards, policies and procedures, and change management. Throughout his long career in SLB, he also held several management positions in operations with revenue generation and cost management responsibilities, as well as management positions at the headquarter, focusing on longer-term strategy and planning in the HR domain. Fueled by his deep-rooted technical background, which has always been his passion, he was pulled back to the technical realm to contribute to the growth of the Artificial Intelligence business in SLB in the region. As the SLB’s Business Development Manager for AI in Asia, he is spearheading initiatives leveraging his comprehensive understanding of technical intricacies and business dynamics to promote the use and benefits of Artificial Intelligence in the energy industry.
Aqeel Al-Naser has more than 15 years of experience in Upstream digital solutions with Saudi Aramco. He started his career as a system analyst, developing solutions for Geosteering Operations and Reservoir Characterization. More recently, he played a key role in laying the foundation of the Upstream Digital Transformation journey. Also, he led the establishment of the Upstream Innovation Center, which accelerates the development of IR 4.0 solutions to address Upstream business challenges. Currently, he is leading the Upstream Digital Business Support team, with a focus on digital performance and advocacy. Aqeel holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, UK.
Eirik is cofounder and Chief Solutions Officer of Earth Science Analytics. He has 20+ years’ experience from the E&P industry. He has held various technical and managerial roles in E&P energy companies where he has worked with exploration, field development, production and research. He holds a MSC and a PhD in geology from the University of Bergen, and is now laser focused on implementation of AI and data-driven analytics in geoscience.
Chain Sopitviriyaporn is a dedicated and experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in petroleum engineering. Currently serving as the DS&A Principal Lead at Chevron in Bangkok, Thailand, Chain has over 7 years of expertise in applying data science techniques to enhance geoscience and engineering practices.
His passion lies in leveraging cutting-edge technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence to drive transformative changes and unlock valuable insights. Chain excels in exploring new data sources and crafting innovative solutions to tackle industry challenges, contributing to the optimization of business processes.
With a deep understanding of data governance, Chain has played a crucial role in establishing robust standards for data lake governance, compliance, and quality. His expertise extends to leveraging data architecture to drive effective data management and support data-driven decision-making.
Norzarifah Kamarauzaman is as a Specialist Data Scientist at Hess Exploration & Production Malaysia, with over ten years of experience in the oil & gas industry. Recognizing the potential of data-driven decision-making, Norzarifah shifted her focus from a geology graduate to geoscience data management, where she developed a strong focus on stakeholder management and gained valuable experience in a broad range of tasks related to data management such as data organization and integration, database development and maintenance, quality control and assurance, etc. Driven by a curiosity to extract meaningful and actionable insights from data, Norzarifah embarked on a career shift towards Data Science in 2018. She has honed her skills in programming, machine learning, and advanced analytics, applying her expertise to optimize operations and improve resource management in the industry, all while empowering aspiring data scientists. In addition to her professional pursuits, Norzarifah is also an avid marathon runner, finding joy and fulfillment in the challenges and triumphs of long-distance running. Norzarifah is an alumna of University of Malaysia. She graduated with first-class honors in Bachelor of Science Applied Geology (2012) and completed Master of Data Science with Distinction (2021).
