EAGE Workshop on Quantitative Geoscience as a Catalyst in a Carbon Neutral World
31 May - 1 June 2022, Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Recognizing the need for action, enthusiasts and visionaries are implementing initiatives to decarbonize their operations in exploration and development. Quantitative Geoscience has a key role to play in reducing and/or offsetting the carbon emissions of current and future activities to achieve carbon related targets focusing on energy industry.
In this workshop, we will showcase workflows and innovations in quantitative geoscience that are serving as a catalyst to realize these Net Zero ambitions. Abstracts on subjects as the role of the geosciences in reducing the total carbon budget of the full upstream oil and gas value chain, nuclear and renewables industries are welcome. The committee is particularly keen to read abstracts that quantify both the net carbon impact or technology discussed and the uncertainties and biases in subsurface carbon storage and quantification, where geoscience is the catalyst that enables commercial application of a significant net carbon reduction.
We welcome all the subsurface disciplines including Geologists, Geophysicists, Petrophysicists, Rock Physicists, Geomechanics Consultants, Reservoir engineers, Field Development Managers and Net Zero leaders who can benefit from the synergy provided by the content of this workshop.
The workshop will create an immersive learning environment where participants can exchange ideas, challenge the norms, and listen to the experts to put ideas into practice.
