First EAGE Atlantic Geoscience Resource Exploration & Development Symposium 2025 is a premier event, bringing experts from around the globe to delve into the multifaceted aspects of the Atlantic Conjugate Margins, encompassing geological, economic, and environmental perspectives. Aligned with His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s Atlantic Initiative, the conference highlights our dedication to fostering collaboration across Africa, contributing to the development of the Atlantic’s energy resources, and highlights the importance of international collaboration and sustainable development in resource exploration.
This conference is dedicated to the exploration of the intriguing geological and economic phenomena associated with the Atlantic Conjugate Margins, extending across multiple continents. It offers at the same time an exceptional platform to delve into the geological complexities, resource opportunities, the latest discoveries and the integration of sustainability into resource exploration.
Laura Valentina Socco, is Full Professor of Applied Geophysics at the Delft University of Technology and at Politecnico di Torino, where she got her PhD in 1996. She develops geophysical techniques based on the propagation of seismic surface waves and on geophysical data integration for applications ranging from, seismic hazard and engineering, to hydrocarbon and mineral exploration, environment and cultural heritage. She has more than 150 scientific publications on peer review scientific journals and conferences. She is presently EAGE President. In 2013 Prof Socco has been chosen as Honorary Lecturer by the SEG. In 2014 she has received the Conrad Schlumberger Award (EAGE). In 2019 Prof Socco has received the Outstanding Educator Award from SEG. She has been Editor in Chief of Geophysics from 2017 to 2019.

Civil Engineer of Mines from the National Superior School of Mines of Nancy, Mrs. Benkhadra is also a Doctor Engineer in mine sciences and techniques (ENSM Paris). She also had management trainings at the University of Columbia in the year 1990.
Her career started in 1982 at the Mines Research and Participation Office (BRPM) where she held several positions of responsibility in managing new projects and portfolio of BRPM.
In 1994, she was appointed Director of Mines at the Ministry in charge of Energy and Mines, then Secretary of State in charge of mining sector development (1997-1998).
