Second EAGE/ AAPG Geothermal Energy in the Middle East Workshop
09-11 November 2026, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Geothermal energy stands poised to transform the global energy landscape, offering a groundbreaking path towards how we power our homes, cities, and industries. The Middle East is no exception, on the contrary, leveraging the region's deep expertise from the oil and gas sector positions it to become a global pioneer in harnessing the subsurface for clean, reliable energy. As the region prioritizes economic diversification, environmental stewardship, technological innovation and reduced reliance on fossil fuels, geothermal energy emerges as a strategic resource in the quest for a sustainable future.
Building on the success of the inaugural gathering in June 2025 in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, the 2nd iteration of our workshop will focus on the practical applications and optimization of geothermal energy. The three day event, will explore the latest developments and innovations in geothermal energy, with a focus on real-life use cases, efficient extraction, and management. The workshop will act as a forum for exchanging ideas and be structured around three key themes:
These themes will be supported by a range of submission topics, including legislative frameworks, applications, integration, and play-based exploration, among others. We invite geoscientists, engineers, academics, industry leaders, and policy makers to join us in this exciting event, sharing expertise and contributing to the development of the geothermal energy future for the Middle East. By convening global experts and showcasing the latest innovations in geothermal energy, we aim to inspire new collaborations and accelerate the adoption of this clean and sustainable energy source, unlocking its potential and driving progress towards a more sustainable future across the region and beyond.
The EAGE Workshops are intimate. Interactive. They are the right place to learn from the experts and really get to know your fellow delegates within your industry. Join this or other EAGE workshops and start learning and networking in our next event!
