Smart Exploration (www.smartexploration.eu) is an EU Horizon2020 funded project addressing the challenges surrounding the exploration of mineral resources that are vital to the economy and technological advancement within the EU.

The project focuses on developing cost-effective, environmentally-friendly tools and methods for geophysical exploration in highly challenging brownfield areas to meet the ever-increasing community (social acceptance) and environmental issues, as well as reduce the return time (from exploration to production). The new innovative ideas are also tested for greenfield exploration to increase the potential of finding new major deposits of relevance to the EU.

The aim is to not only generate new technological and methodological markets for the EU, but to create results that will also allow for improved exploration in the EU countries and beyond. EAGE is the Dissemination Leader of the project and has been managing the communication activities as well as civil society engagements together with other partners. As one of the dissemination activities involves holding webinar sessions to communicate the project results and achievements to relevant stakeholders and end-users. During these interactive webinar sessions, five technologies and six softwares developed within the project alongside other important results are presented in detail.
