Be Part of the Third EAGE Workshop on Petroleum Geochemistry in the Middle East

The Third EAGE Geochemistry Workshop has been merged with the Second EAGE Sulfur Risk Management in E&P Conference and the technical committee would like to encourage presenters to submit technical contributions through this platform using the links indicated below.

Abstract submission steps:

Step 1Identify the abstract topic in the section below.
Step 2
Step 3Download the abstract template.
Step 4Submit your abstract using the "Submit" button at the bottom of this page.

The main topics of this workshop will be:

1. Exploration

  • Geochemical Characterization Of Conventional Source Rocks and Unconventional Plays
  • Oils and Gas Geochemistry
  • New Techniques To Better Estimate Original-Oil-In-Place (OOIP)

  • Seepage

2. Production

  • Production Allocation
  • Reservoir Connectivity and Heterogeneities
  • Scale & Corrosion Studies

  • Time Lapse Geochemistry

  • Well Integrity Management

3. Environmental Issues

  • Environmental Monitoring
  • Water Management
  • Well integrity

4. Sulfur and Metals Risk Management in Subsurface Energy Exploration, and Production

In 2021, with the merge with the SRM conference; Because Heavy metal and metalloid (for example, Hg, Ar, Se) geochemistry also presents serious concerns and can co-occur with H2S, we now also invite abstracts which specifically address “Metals Risk Management” throughout the petroleum lifecycle, from source rock deposition to production.

  • Sedimentary Organic Matter (OM): Primary Sulfur Incorporation, Deposition, Preservation, Sulfurized OM, Thermal Cracking

  • Reservoir Geochemistry: Secondary Sulfur Incorporation (Microbial and Thermal Alterations), Geological and Geochemical Souring Mechanisms

  • Sulfur Prediction from Basin to Reservoir Models

  • Development and Production of H2S and Sulfur Bearing Fluids in Petroleum and Geothermal

  • New Analytical Tools for Characterization of Petroleum Sulfur Compounds

  • Regional Case Studies

The deadline for submitting abstracts is 20 May 2021.
