Venezuela’s Upstream to Downstream

Past, Present and Future

EAGE and VAPA are jointly organizing a Special Session called “Venezuela’s Upstream to Downstream - Past, Present and Future” to take place in a fully online format, in November 2020 as part of the Second HGS and EAGE Conference on Latin America.

This special session will bring a series of guest speakers that will explain the Oil & Gas exploration and production  history of Venezuela; production infrastructure, refining and commercialization capabilities for Hydrocarbons and products, but more importantly, they  will offer a view of the potential available in Venezuela to be developed during the reconstruction of the Energy Sector.

Please visit  constantly our website for updates on the program and speakers this session will have.

Looking forward to e - seeing you!!!

About EAGE and VAPA

The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is a global professional, not-for-profit association for geoscientists and engineers with approximately 19,000 members worldwide. It provides a global network of commercial and academic professionals to all members. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits.

All members of EAGE are professionally involved in (or studying) geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and mineral exploration, civil engineering, tunneling and environmental matters. EAGE operates two divisions: the Oil & Gas Geoscience Division and the Near Surface Geoscience Division.

EAGE organizes the following activities for its members:

  • Events (conferences, exhibitions, workshops)
  • Publications (journals, books)
  • Educational Programs (short courses, webinars, lectures)
  • Student Programs

The Venezuelan American Petroleum Association – VAPA, is a nonprofit professional organization in the Hydrocarbon industry and other related energies.

The purposes of this Association are:

 1) Promote the professional growth of its members in technologies applied to the value chain of energy sector while maintaining a high standard of conduct.

 2) Provide technical support, education and training for the sustainable development of the Venezuelan Hydrocarbon Industry.

VAPA organizes these activities for its members:

a. Technical meetings related to upstream, midstream and downstream activities of the Energy sector

b.  Continuous education program

c. Funnel activities related to the preservation of the knowledge of the Venezuelan diaspora that will help the reconstruction of the Venezuelan Energy Sector
