Dr. Nader Issa is a physicist with 22 years of experience delivering new technology solutions for a range of applications such as optical communications, industrial measurement equipment, life sciences and geophysical monitoring & data processing. He has held positions at Leica Geosystems (Switzerland) and Finisar Corporation (Australia), as well as research positions at a Max Planck Institute (Germany) and the University of Western Australia (Australia). In 2017 he co-founded Terra15 and has led, as CEO, the company through development, manufacturing, business development and delivery of end-solutions for distributed fiber sensing globally.
Mahmoud co-founded Silixa in 2007 and he is currently Executive Director. Prior to Silixa, he co-founded Sensornet in 1998 which was then received an investment from Shell Technology Ventures. Mahmoud worked as a Senior Research Fellow on non-linear fibre optic sensors at King’s College London from 1994 to1998. he successfully managed and completed a European project. From 1990 to 1994, he initiated and manged a Joint Industrial Project (JIP) in fibre optic sensing for oil and gas applications that led to the formation of Sensor Dynamics which was then acquired by Schlumberger in 2001. From 1986 to 1990 he was a Research Fellow at University College London working on fibre optic sensors, integrated photonics devices He was a Joint winner of Metrology Award in 2000, British Telecom Award in 2001, Institute of Physics Innovation Award in 2015, and The Queen’s Award 2021 for Innovation on the behalf of Silixa.
Pavel Golikov is a research geophysicist at EXPEC Advanced Research Center of Saudi Aramco. He holds MSc degree in Geophysics from Novosibirsk State University and PhD degree in Applied Geophysics and Petroleum Engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. His research interests include seismic data acquisition, processing, migration and inversion; novel acquisition technologies such as DAS and Robotics applications; data analytics and machine learning applications.
Paul Phythian is a Principal Technical Geophysicist in the G&G Services Team of Chevron Australia’s Applied Reservoir Management group in Perth, Western Australia. Prior to working with Chevron Paul spent 13 years as a seismic processing and imaging geophysicist with various seismic contractors in Australia. Paul has been with Chevron for 15 years, firstly in the Exploration Venture Gas team of Chevron’s Australian Business Unit, followed by a role in Chevron’s Perth Global Technology Centre and is now back working in the Australian Business Units Asset Development department. Paul completed his Bachelor of Applied Science degree with Honours in Geophysics from the University of Queensland in 1994. He is currently coordinating field operations for active source surface seismic, passive micro seismic as well as various fibre optic technology projects.
Alex Tarang has been working with PETRONAS as geoscientist for the past 27 years. He has experiences in both exploration and exploitation activities in many geographical locations such as Chad, Sudan, Mozambique, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia basins. Currently he is the Principal Reservoir Geophysicist working for MPM-RDM PETRONAS. His main interest is on the use Seismic and Geophysics Methods for Reservoir Characterization, Monitoring and Management- within the full Field Life Cycle. He holds a MSc degree in Exploration Geophysics from University of Leeds, U.K.
