 Mérida is the capital of Yucatan state in Mexico, also the largest city of Yucatán Peninsula.  

This colorful and beautiful city, has many similarities and influences with Mayan, Spanish, French, British, Lebanese Dutch influences. Mérida has the highest percentage of indigenous population within any large city in Mexico. The Maya are approximately 60% of the population.
