OYO is a market leader in geotechnical and geoscience services in Japan, and we have been at the forefront of offshore wind site characterization since its inception. We have developed innovative techniques, such as Offshore Microtremor Array Measurements and PS Logging for large boreholes, both of which are optimized for acquiring essential geodata for the earthquake-resistant design of turbine foundations. Our advanced technologies will provide robust support for your projects in earthquake-prone waters.
Every offshore wind farm is different. Seabed conditions, weather windows, port access, vessel capability, and local supply chains all shape the cost and timing of site investigation, installation, and ongoing operations. These variables make early planning difficult—and traditional tools often rely on static assumptions or generic estimates. Zephyrus Planner is designed to change that. Now in development by the team behind Seafloor Planner, Zephyrus will provide evolving, data-driven estimates for environmental, geophysical, geotechnical, and installation programmes. As projects progress—from early desktop screening through to contracting and offshore execution—Zephyrus supports increasing granularity and accuracy, replacing guesswork with confidence. The platform is designed to support multi-vessel operations and supply chain variability, factoring in everything from transit times and mobilisation ports to environmental windows and marine hazards. Outputs help define and optimise offshore activities before mobilisation—avoiding surprises mid-project. Presented through a clear, GIS-based web interface, Zephyrus helps project teams and stakeholders visualise plans and adapt quickly as conditions evolve. We’re building Zephyrus with direct input from developers and contractors who understand the realities of offshore wind.
