Ryuta Kitamura joined JAPEX (Japan Petroleum Exploration Company) in 1995. He worked as a drilling engineer overseas and domestically in Japan for 13 years. He moved to JOGMEC in 2008. He was in charge of technical evaluation for equity finance projects as well as R&D projects for drilling engineering. He worked in JOGMEC Sydney Office from 2012 - 2015 as assistant general manager. He was in charge of technical promotion for Abu Dhabi as well as technical planning for R&D projects for oil and gas upstream from 2016 to 2018, then in charge of R&D projects for production and development technology in oil and gas upstream area from 2019 - 2022. He is leading "Advanced CCS Project in Japan" since 2023 and currently manages widely CCS related projects covered by JOGMEC. He has a bachelor degree of geo-system engineering from University of Tokyo.
Mark Holst has 22 years of experience with Shell working in front-end oil & gas field development covering conventional, EOR, on/offshore assets and operations in the Netherlands, Malaysia and Oman. Following an MBA he joined the Upstream strategy group supporting the Senior Executive Leadership with the design and implementation of multiple portfolio, business and corporate level strategies. In this capacity Mark led several CCS related strategies before relocating to Singapore end-2022 to lead the development of CCS value chains in Asia-Pacific for the Group. He is currently also the Business Opportunity Manager for the Sarawak Luconia CCS project.
Pierre joined TotalEnergies 30 years ago as a Petroleum Engineer and held various operational and managerial positions within the Geoscience and Operations activities. He worked on field development and reserve optimization in various TotalEnergies operated affiliates including Argentina, Venezuela, Angola and the USA. He moved to the E&P Business Development team where he led the acquisition and divestment of various exploration and production assets. Back in the USA, he oversaw the Strategy and Business Development of the E&P affiliate, before joining the TotalEnergies Representative Office in Washington DC. He has been back in Paris for 6 years, first as a Vice President in the M&A Corporate Team, and now in charge of the Business Development of the CCS Business Unit.
Frans Silitonga is the Tangguh Area Development Manager at BP Berau Ltd., Tangguh Project, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. With more than 25 years of experience in gas development, his track record in delivering various subsurface projects, includes the initial Tangguh development and Tangguh expansion project. In his current role he is leading the delivery of new fields development, Tangguh CCUS/EGR and compression project.
Frans held several key roles in Tangguh development spanned from technical to leadership roles. Previously he served as the Reservoir Engineering Discipline Lead. Frans hold key role in delivering Indonesia's first CCS project, the enhanced gas recovery (EGR) through carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) in Tangguh. This project aims to reduce emissions by injecting CO2 into the reservoir, thereby increasing gas. He led the subsurface evaluation from concept development, into plan of development and investment decision.
Frans holds a master’s degree in engineering technology management from the University of Tulsa, USA, and a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia.
Yohei Kawahara is the Project Manager of BIGST project which is a giant high CO2 gas fields development with CCS aiming sustainable energy supply to Peninsular Malaysia. Joint Team by ENEOS Xplora and PETRONAS Carigali proceeds this technically and economically challenging project and he is in a project management role to lead it to success.
