It is time to make a tectonic shift on maximizing value of our core. APGCE 2022 is aimed at working towards creating greater awareness on the value of data integration using core data and digital core technology. For that matter, the theme for this year is “From traditional into digital technology: Value of core data in driving integrated multi-disciplinary subsurface solutions”.
Oil and gas companies are challenged with the need to improve efficiency and accuracy on opportunity maturation work in order to keep in pace with the demand for early monetization. Quantitative approach using multiple data source and techniques in search of integrated solutions proven to be the successful path moving forward. Data extracted from cores are imperative to solving difficult questions on reservoir properties and flow dynamic. While continuing to improve basic integration using traditional data set, embarking into digital core technology will help in providing the confidence, speed and accuracy on observation and validation of reservoir rock properties derived from the core.
APGCE 2022 will showcase the value of multi-disciplinary approach using core data to understand subsurface issues thru the core viewing session as well as the effort undertaking by oil companies, laboratories and contractors to pursue digital core technology in their business. 3 key focus areas for this year’s showcase are:
This showcase is built around the need for fundamental integration, technology of the future and data quality in driving efficiency and quality deliverables for early monetization effort. It is our pleasure to invite interested companies to participate with us in promoting this step change in core data utilization.
As in previous years, the core exhibit will be located in one of the Conference Center’s ballrooms, and access will be restricted to full delegates of the conference. Core delivery and layout will be conducted by professionals from PETRONAS’ Geo-Sample Centre, thereby ensuring maximum care is taken when moving and placing the core. Security staff will be on hand at all times to ensure no-one photographs or touches the core.
