Richard Inglis

Newmont

He is a Newmont’s Chief Geoscientist with over 30 years extensive experience in exploration and mining around the globe. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his expertise in geological mapping, QAQC, mineral exploration, and geological modeling. With a passion for technology, learning and a drive to make a difference, Richard continues to push the boundaries of our understanding of the planet and its resources.

Dr. Mohammad Ayaz Alam

Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH)

Academic, Department of Geospatial and Environmental Engineering. Teaching and research on water, environment, planning and land use, geothermal energy, volcanology, lithium, rare earths. He is a result-oriented professional with a comprehensive record of top-notch performance in academic as well as corporate environment. Well versed in technical and economic aspects of business, with a sound record of eliminating expenses and creating highly efficient, cost-effective operating structures. A natural leader and team player with superb interpersonal skills and the ability to implement innovative strategies and manage multiple tasks effectively. Analytical and strategic thinker with the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity.

Hernan Rivas Herrera

South America Exploration - Teck Resources

Chilean geophysicist with more than 15 years of experience. Throughout his career he has been linked to mineral exploration projects in different types of deposits in South America, hydrogeological studies, exploration and support to the extraction of lithium brines among others, being part of teams in geophysical services companies as well as the exploration team and support in mining companies. He is currently part of Teck Resources in the Exploration team, where he is a member of the Geosciences group supporting mainly the exploration activities in Chile.

Anibal Gajardo Cubillos

SERNAGEOMIN

During his 50-year professional career dedicated to Industrial Rocks and Minerals, he has been a geologist at the Geological Research Institute, Consultant Geologist for national and foreign institutions and companies, Academician and Professor at the Geology Department of the University of Chile, and geologist at the National Service of Geology and Mining (SERNAGEOMIN), where he has conducted numerous studies of mineral resources and held positions of technical leadership and representation in international research programs, and currently as Editor.

He has written more than 200 papers in Books, Journals, Serial Publications, and Proceedings of national and international Congresses; he has given courses and seminars for national and foreign academic and professional institutions, he has been a Guest Lecturer in universities, Geological Surveys, and events of national and international category, in America and Europe, he has also integrated Official Missions of the Chilean Government in Australia and New Zealand.

He was a member of the National Lithium Commission, appointed by the President of the Republic Michelle Bachelet; in his honor, the International Mineralogical Association named the mineral Gajardoite, and he has been awarded the National Geology Prize "Medal of Merit Juan Brüggen" by the Chilean Association of Geologists.

Dr. Stephen Edwards

Research Principal, Minerals & Mining, CGG, UK

Is an Earth and environmental scientist with almost 40 years of teaching, research and knowledge exchange experience in geology, natural and environmental hazards and associated risk management, responsible management of natural resources, and field investigation. He has led pioneering collaborative partnerships to reduce environmental and social risks from natural and mining hazards. Since 2012, his activities have focussed on South America, particularly Bolivia and Chile. He is now committed to understanding, communicating and reducing risks associated with the resource demand driven by the energy transition.
