Flover Rodriguez-Portillo is a Colombian geologist and Director of the Asociación Colombiana de Geólogos y Geofísicos de la Energía (ACGGP). His work focuses on bridging geosciences with public policy, energy transition, and sustainable development. He has led initiatives to strengthen dialogue among industry, academia, communities, and government, emphasizing the role of Earth sciences in shaping energy futures and building social trust. Flover actively participates in international professional organizations such as AAPG, EAGE and SEG, and is dedicated to mentoring young professionals and students. His vision highlights the social dimension of geosciences: “thinking about the well-being of those around us is the most meaningful way geoscientists can contribute to a sustainable future.”
