Alexandro Vera-Arroyo

Alexandro Vera-Arroyo is currently a research and teacher assistant at the University of Oklahoma. His research interests include wave propagation phenomena, optimization problems, quantitative reservoir characterization, machine learning, and exploration risk management. He studied exploration geophysics at the National Autonomous University in Mexico City. His industry experience started at Schlumberger as a geomechanics engineer, later joined Pemex as an exploration geophysicist in the Gulf of Mexico and quantitative interpreter. He then earned his master’s in geophysics at OU. Now he is pursuing his doctorate to better understand deep learning applications in different subsurface exploration challenges. Alexandro is the treasurer for the OU student chapter AAPGE, member of EAGE, SEG, SPE, and SPWLA.
