Submission Guidelines

All interested to participate in the ECMOR 2026 programme, should first submit an abstract through the portal below, which will be reviewed and included in the selection procedure. If the submission is selected and accepted into the ECMOR 2026 programme, the author will be requested to submit a full paper.

Please note that all submitted abstracts must follow the following guidelines:

  • Abstracts must be in English and approximately 300-400 words long. Shorter abstracts are likely to be rejected.

  • The abstract should summarise the results and major conclusions to be presented, making clear the nature of the mathematical content: authors should also state what distinguishes their contribution from previous work on the same subject.

  • Separately from the abstract, the significance of the proposed paper should be justified by listing up to three technical contributions that it will make to the knowledge base of the mathematics of geological reservoirs.

  • The abstract should include at least two (2) references.

  • Authors may submit more than one abstract for consideration. However, the Scientific Committee plans for one presentation per delegate at the conference. Although not binding on the Committee, authors making multiple submissions as principal author (and proposed speaker) should therefore rank these in terms of their personal preference. Note: During the submission process, an author may submit up to three (3) abstracts from their account.
  • Abstracts from post-graduate research students are welcome.

Selection Process

  • Abstracts should be submitted through the Abstract Submission Portal. Submissions made via email will not be processed.

  • During this first selection round, no documents can be uploaded. Your abstract (300-400 words long) will have to be included in the box "Abstract".

  • Submitters will be notified of the selection results on March 2026, with further information on registration and the full paper requirements.

  • Should your abstract be accepted, a full paper is required by 1 June 2026, 23:59 hrs CEST.

Presentations

EAGE cannot make any contributions toward coverage of expenses relating to the presentation.

Cancellation Information

In case authors want to withdraw their abstracts please adhere to the following deadlines:

Withdrawal of abstracts before 1 August 2026: your abstract will be removed from EarthDoc.
Cancellations of presentations on or after 1 August 2026 may be considered as a no-show and you risk being disqualified from presenting at all EAGE events for the next 3 years.

Please note: EAGE cannot be held liable for any loss, damage, direct, indirect or consequential damage as a result of withdrawal, removal or non-removal of the abstract in any way.

Publication

The accepted full papers are published on EarthDoc, which is an official EAGE publication, as submitted. Badly written papers not only reflect poorly on the authors, but also on the association. Many more people read the accepted full papers than those attending the presentation. Therefore, EAGE will only consider properly written and informative full papers that are submitted in line with the instructions.

Anti-Plagiarism Statement

EAGE invites the presentation of new and original material in a range of multi-disciplinary topics in Geoscience and Engineering. The EAGE takes plagiarism very seriously. Therefore, if an extended abstract or paper, after careful review, examination and consideration, is rejected on the basis of plagiarism, ALL authors of the abstract/paper will be denied the opportunity for further abstract submissions for the following three years. Note that this means that NO abstracts/papers from ANY of the authors (as author or co-author on subsequent papers) will be accepted for ANY EAGE event (Annual Meeting, Conference or Workshop) for a period of three years starting on the date of the event for which the paper was originally submitted.
