Workshop Overview

EAGE invites scientists and researchers to congregate in Abu Dhabi for a Geomechanics Workshop to be held in March 2022. As in the three previous workshops, which were held in Abu Dhabi in 2014, 2016 and 2018, it will bring together leading researchers and scientists to discuss new developments in geomechanics and interesting field studies. There is always a strong attendance from the Gulf countries and the workshop is a prime opportunity to assess the state of-the-art when applying geomechanics to fields in the Middle East. However, contributions are encouraged from allover the world, especially those that shed light on new and innovative topics.

Many new digital technologies are being developed and tested, but it is not yet clear which will be the most accurate and efficient, and how their results should be incorporated into strategic and operational decisions. Sharing of experiences and recommendations for such technologies is therefore essential for the global community.

The programme will include Plenary Lectures, Invited Talks, Technical Sessions, Discussion Sessions, and possibly a Field Trip and Courses. Presenters will have an opportunity to publish their talks, but this will not be a requirement.

The Technical Committee invite practitioners, innovators and industry experts to contribute to this workshop and share their achievements and challenges, lay out big innovative ideas and seek new alliances to jointly develop a road for the future. Contributors are welcome to submit an abstract of 2-4 pages in length. Submission for posters & oral presentations is welcome on all topics. Students and academia professionals are also invited to submit papers.

The workshop will take place in 1-3 March in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
