Paola Tello Guerrero is a physicist with ten years of experience in the upstream hydrocarbon sector in Europe and Colombia, with expertise in subsurface characterisation, hands-on knowledge of petrophysics, laboratory, computational modeling, and geophysics in multidisciplinary projects.
Paola has four years of involvement with climate action as a Homeward bound alumni ( the largest all-female Antarctica expedition, a global network of 1000 female scientists working in the sustainability of the planet), currently, she leads client services for New Energies at ALS being responsible for projects related to Geothermal, CCS, and Hydrogen.
She also is the founder and strategy leader of “Antarctica for the Brave,” an award-winning children educational project in climate change with social and environmental impact. Committee member of the EAGE Energy transition community and Women in Energy London committee.
The EAGE Green Fund has invited all our student members from around the world to participate in the Minus CO2 Student Challenge. This competition aims to encourage innovation and environmental awareness amongst the next generation of geoscientists and engineers.
Universities were invited to apply with a team to take part in this innovative challenge. Every team has received an assignment, which is sponsored by Equinor, to work with. The teams had the opportunity to propose a novel way of utilizing this resource with zero-net emissions.
Finalist teams: Green Team from The University of Barcelona, Carbonitos Team from IFP School and Team Mauá from the University of Rio de Janeiro.
The winner will be announced during this Opening Session.
