Dr. Muneer Abdalla

Assistant professor, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Omar Al-Mukhtar University

Dr. Abdalla is an accomplished sedimentary basin analysis expert specializing in the stratigraphic architectural evolution of carbonate platforms. With a PhD degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA, Dr. Abdalla has contributed significantly to the understanding of the evolution of carbonate platforms within the Sirte rift basin in Libya. His work has been featured in many first and second quartile (Q1 and Q2) journals and international conferences. His subjects of interest include sedimentary basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, and petroleum geology.

Dr. Mohammed Gumati

Assistant Professor in Geophysics, University of Benghazi

A Highly qualified and motivated Geophysicist with high academic qualifications, and a well-established career in academia and research with strong background and experience in Seismic data interpretation, Rock Physics, Petrophysical analysis, and interest in the interpretation of potential geophysical fields (Magnetic and Gravity), using geoscientific software. I enjoy creative problem solving and getting exposure on multiple projects.

I’m a Senior Geological Advisor with over 34 years of experience in the energy sector.Hold an MSc in Sedimentology, University of Glasgow (1999). I have a proven track record ofdelivering impactful results in geological operations, project management, team leadership, and strategic planning. Proven success in optimizing oil production (including work on the low- permeable Harash Formation at SOC) and Contributed significantly to the Arous Albahr discovery well (A1-54/1) as Exploration Manager at HESS Exploration Libya. Served as Chairman of the National Mining Corporation (NMC-Libya) and Senior Advisor at Petrobras. Currently Senior Geological Advisor at NOC – Libya.
