Welcome from our Chairman,
It is a pleasure to welcome the global EOR community to this event organized by EAGE LATAM. The calendar of events EAGE LATAM organizes and supports is growing year by year with workshops and conferences from Guyana to Argentina. We see an increasing interest in the services provided by the EAGE office. Post-Covid recovery is visible not only in every aspect of our daily lives but also visible in the upstream petroleum industry. In that sense, I am excited and looking forward to my travel to Colombia.
Enhanced Oil Recovery in Latin America is one of the strategic areas in upstream petroleum industry. As most of the oil fields in the region mature, and no major investments in exploration is planned in near future in countries such as Colombia, the operating companies find themselves applying EOR methods to the existing fields to improve the total reserve. From another point of view, the EOR projects in Latin America could be considered as the hotspots of the global EOR. Therefore, harnessing the latest technologies is particularly relevant in the region to ensure that the future oil production is cost effective, safe and environmentally friendly.
This workshop is going to provide the audience with 16 presentations and open panel discussions on various aspects of EOR methods, modeling and case studies, newly-emerging and related technologies, and, finally, sustainable development strategies. 7 keynote speakers will be joining us.
