MEET THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS


Jonilton Pessoa

Petrobras 

Jonilton Pessoa is a Brazilian geologist, graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, holds a Master's degree in Geophysical Sciences from the Federal University of Bahia, and an MBA in Economics from FGV. He joined Petrobras in 1987 and began his professional career as an Interpretation Geophysicist working in the Campos Basin, offshore Brazil, developing both technically and managerially. He is the current Petrobras Exploration Executive Manager.


Marina Abelha

Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP)

Marina Abelha is currently the Licensing Rounds Promotion Superintendent at the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). She holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in geology, with 15 years of experience in various roles at ANP, primarily focusing on exploration. In 2022, she began pursuing a PhD in public policy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro's Economics Institute, where she is working on her thesis about the role of public policies in developing Brazil's hydrogen industry and market


Paul R. Riley

ExxonMobil

Paul Riley received his Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience from Franklin and Marshall College in 2004. He then received a Master’s degree (2006) and a Doctorate degree (2010) in Structural Geology from the University of Wisconsin. He joined ExxonMobil in 2011, where he began working production opportunities in West Africa. From 2011-2018, he worked basins across Africa, South America, and the Middle East. In 2018, he became West Africa New Opportunities Supervisor, and has gone on to hold various leadership positions in business analysis, strategy, and operations. He is currently Exploration Manager for South America, with his team generating and testing new ideas. His team oversees the Guyana exploration program, as well as Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, and Brazil.


Raul Ysaccis

SLB

He joined SLB in 2004 and is currently Exploration Lead for South America.He received his undergraduate degree from the Universidad de Oriente (Venezuela) and has a Ph.D. degree in Geology and Geophysics from Rice University (USA). He has more than 30 years of international and domestic E&P experience, with both operator and consulting companies, and with a track record as an oil finder. Extensive experience in basin analysis, block evaluation, prospect assessment, field development, and wellsite operations.
