Supporting Organizations

The ASEG is a non-profit company founded in 1970. Its aims to:

·  to promote the science of geophysics, and specifically exploration geophysics, throughout Australia.

·  to foster fellowship and co-operation between geophysicists.

·  to encourage closer understanding and co-operation with other earth scientists.

·  to assist in design and teaching of courses in geophysics and to sponsor student sections where appropriate.

The ASEG's main activities are the publication of the technical journal Exploration Geophysics, the bi-monthly magazine Preview ,occasional Special Publications and and holds regular technical events hosted by our branches. The ASEG organises a Geophysical Conference and Exhibition every 18 months.  The ASEG also conducts continuing education courses and supports Research in exploration geophysics.

The Chinese Taipei Geophysical Society (CTGS) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the science of geophysics and the education of applied geophysicists. On 1989, some senior geophysicists met at the National Central University to found Chinese Geophysical Society (CGS). Professor Chieh-Hou Yang was elected the first president and institute of geophysics of national central university was elected the durable representative society’s office. The CGS was rename as the Chinese Taipei Geophysical Society (CTGS) in 2009. Now, the society has more than 300 members and fulfills his mission through its publications, conferences, forums and educational opportunities. Members of the CTGS are widely covered geophysicist, geologist, hydrologist, civil engineer, and geoscience teacher in Taiwan. Although members of the CTGS are primarily national, the society does not limit the membership to international. The CTGS welcomes international scientist to joint us.

As a not-for-profit society, the CTGS relies on its committees to keep the organization running smoothly. There are 5 committees: executive, membership, education, technical, and honor and award.

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists of Japan (SEGJ) was established in May 1948 with the objectives to promote the science and technology of geophysical exploration as well as to encourage mutual communication among the members.

SEGJ was initially composed of 416 individual members and 18 corporate members. Dr. Kumiji Iida was appointed as the first president. The first issue of the journal” Butsuri-Tanko (Geophysical Exploration)” was published just a month after the establishment. The office of the Society was situated in the Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ) in Kawasaki at first.

Activating international cooperation, SEGJ currently has association agreement with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE), the Australian SEG (ASEG), the Korean SEG (KSEG), the Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS), Vietnam Association of Geophysicists (VAG), the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists China (SPG), and the Indonesian Association of Geophysicists (HAGI).
