Workshop 1: Atlantic Conjugate Margins Seismic Revelations Workshop

Using recently acquired 3D data, the first part of the workshop will include an Orange Basin to Pelotas Basin seismic correlation to analyze similarities and differences between the two margins and identify the elements which can be used from the discoveries in the Orange Basin to de-risk the frontier Pelotas Basin in southern Brazil. Next, the Equatorial Margins of Brazil and West Africa will be compared using the latest 3D data acquired in Northern Brazil. And lastly, the workshop will move to the North Atlantic where data from the host Newfoundland Province will be shared to identify key elements of the petroleum system in the exploration hot spots.


Workshop 2: Core Insights from the Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore: A Hands-On Workshop Led by Local Geoscientists*

This workshop offers a hands-on opportunity to examine core from a range of exploration and producing fields in the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore. The workshop will be facilitated by local subject-matter experts, who will provide practical insights into exploration target reservoirs, reservoir characterization, and geological controls on production. The sessions will be interactive with participants engagement for enhanced learning and knowledge sharing. The workshop will also serve as an introduction to the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator’s (C-NLOER) Core Storage and Research Centre (CSRC). 

Attendees will take part in a guided tour of the facility and will learn about core and sample storage, access requirements, and borrowing procedures, as well as other services and resources available through C‑NLOER.
